Jurisdiction:

Directorate of Economic Offences has its jurisdiction throughout the state of West Bengal.

The I.O. reports to his hierarchy and obtains necessary order as per provisions of PRB.

The Accounts Officer-cum-Drawing & Disbursing Officer (as officer of WBA&AS cadre) is the nodal officer of this directorate in this regard. The Norms set by it for the discharge of its functioning

Complaints related to offences e.g. Financial Establishment are examined by the Directorate and after being satisfied, the appropriate authority, passes order to add relevant section of The West Bengal Protection of Interest of Depositors in Financial Establishments Act, 2013.

RTI CELL

RTI Cell deals with all RTI applications and appeals received through designated SPIO and Appellate Authority of Directorate of Economic Offences. All correspondences of Hon’ble WB Information Commission are attended in this section. Effort is being made to take time bound action. Dy. SP, DEO will act as S.P.I.O of this Directorate .

HUMAN RIGHTS CELL

Human Rights Cell takes action in respect of all correspondences received from West Bengal Human Rights Commission and National Human Rights Commission.

PUBLIC RELATION OFFICER

Public Relation Officer posted at Directorate of Economic Offences discharges functions related to Audio Visual publicity and liaises with Information and Cultural Affairs Department.
